HEALTHY HEARTS/Rashea@LLO2 Academy

The heart knows its own bitterness... (Proverbs 14:10).

Who and what you are is not the result of your mind but your heart. Science has taught us that our personality stems from the mind, but what if I told you that is not true. Your personality actually stems from your heart. When David found himself warring with his humanity, he did not ask God to give him a new mind. David asked God to wash his heart and to reset his spirit (Psalms 51:10).

It is easier for doctors and scientists to study the dynamics and interweavings of the brain then it is the heart. The heart lies within the inner depths of our existence making it more difficult to comprehend then the makeup of the brain. The interweavings of the spiritual layers of the heart is understood through divine revelation. The heart reaches not just to the physical realm of our existence but to the eternal world beyond the earth realm.

Now, I will say that your thoughts do impact your behavior and communication, but it is not the center of life. The mind is the center of thought, but the heart is the center of your life's existence.
David did not instruct Solomon to guard his mind but rather his heart. From the heart flows the issues of life (Proverbs 4:23). Your mind is only as strong as your heart (personality type).

Spiritually speaking the mind is connected to the heart, as the soul is connected to the spirit. Scientifically speaking the brain is connected to the heart. So when you see a break down in one's thoughts (mind, brain, soul) that's because there's a breakdown in their personality (heart, spirit).

These breakdowns scientifically and medically are communicated as the results of chemical imbalance within the brain and heart.

However, spiritually speaking these breakdowns are the result of trauma or unresolved issues that impact one's life, mind, heart, spirit, soul, body and interactions with the world around them. Medicine and counselling can help to align the body chemically to its proper function. Moreover, prayer, fasting and deliverance from trauma can bring lasting relief from plaguing issues and spirits of darkness that torment an individual who suffers from unresolved trauma.

Both the power of God, science and doctors can help bring internal balance & correct problems lurking within one who is suffering from plaguing traumatic issues. We must unsterstand that what science and medicine fails to resolve God can. Moreover, through prayer and fasting, God will lead you to experts, counsellors and doctors who can help you regain your life's balance in spirit, soul and body.

Your cannot counsel a demon. Demons have to be casted out. You cannot cast out a person suffering from trauma, you have to counsel them back to health, as long as they are willing to receive the help and treatment they need to regain their power of having a healthy life.

You see. Being a pastor of nearly 11 years now, I have counseled, prayed for & have seen people with trauma of various kinds. That is why I can detect when something is traumatically wrong. I have learned through experience and guidance from the Holy Spirit that there has to be a balance of the power of God and science working in an individuals life who is suffering from trauma in order for them to regain their life and power back from traumatic situations.

Science cures the symptoms of trauma, but God cures the root (issue) of the trauma. You need both God and science at work in your life. Without God the medicine can worsen the problem, and prayer and fasting without scientific answers can cause the trauma to linger and worsen spiritually and physically.

God wants us to have a healthy personality (heart). Your personality is your first instinct or the proclivity of your behavior, character, internal attitude, nature, disposition when you are relaxed, your temperament or makeup.

Your personality (heart) reveals the state of your soul... thoughts, emotions & moods. Your personality builds and establishes patterns of behavior. What are you usually prone to say, think or do regularly not just in the heat of the moment? We all have multiple layers to our personality where we show moments of happiness, sadness, quietness, timidity, fear, anger or being upset, passion, compassion, laziness, hard work, being studious, talkative or not🀭, etc..

However, there are healthy multiple layers to your personality, and then there are unhealthy layers to your personality because of unresolved trauma. Let God heal your heart not just your mind. As you renew your mind with the Word of God (Romans 12:1-2; Ephesians 4:22-24 and ask Jesus to be the Lord of your life, you will begin to see a difference in your heart (personality), because Jesus is the difference Maker that makes the difference in our lives in every area of our lives.
