12Not that I have already obtained this or am already perfect, but I press on to make it my own, because Christ Jesus has made me his own.
13 Brothers, I do not consider that I have made it my own. But one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead,
14 I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.
-Philippians 3
To press on communicates the capacity and ability to apply pressure in order to draw out or to draw forward. Running or riding in a race to obtain a reward or to meet a goal requires:
.Time.
.Training.
.Coaching.
.Strides.
.Effort.
.Focus.
.Repetition.
.Hard work.
If you are going to run your race you have to have the proper shoes and attire to meet the weather conditions that you are running or riding in. What am I saying metaphorically? Your vision has to be able to last in all seasons or you will not make it to the finish line of your goal.
You cannot just set out to fulfill a vision, dream or goal that you did not plan for or prepare for. Time is of the essence. Make time. Find the time. Coulda, woulda, shoulda doesn't work too well when you are set out to change your life and the world around you.π€.
You are never too talented, too gifted or too important to show up to the meeting, to rehearsal or to practice. People that fail to show up to meetings, rehearsals and practices miss out on important information given and their role on the team or the board. Miss too many and eventually you will be replaced, because your lack of involvement shows your lack of interests in the process to get to the finish line and to accomplish the mission.
No process = No progress.
A lack of process = A lack of progression.
Strides in process = Strides in progression.
You must have a winners attitude. The Apostle Paul acknowledged that he did not yet fulfill the end goal, but his winners attitude communicated his pursuit and commitment to get there at all cost. And eventually he did at all cost.
If you are going to win, you cannot whine. Whining and complaining caused most of the children of Israel who were originally brought out of Egypt to forfeit their inheritance. The inheritance end up going to their children and their children's children.
God wants us to communicate with Him but not to whine or to complain about every little thing.π€¦♀️ Have you ever been around someone who complains and whines about every little thing?π You hate to see them coming. Or Lord is right.π Murmuring and complaining are two of God's pet peeves. We have to have a winners attitude like Joshua and Caleb, "We can do this."πͺπ―
When everyone else died off and got left behind in the wilderness, Joshua and Caleb along with all the young folks went in to Canaan to possess the land and the promises of God. God will bless your faith not your fear.π You have to trust that God is with you.
Allow your fear, worry and frustrations to fade to the background. Fear cannot go in to possess the land and the promises of God. Only your faith and obedience to God will enable you to possess the land and promises of God. Lace up and head out. God is with you on your quest to make it to the finish.
