SHINE LIKE THE STARS/Rashea@LLO2 Academy
When we are young we imagine, reimagine, and dream. "What do you want to be when you grow up," we are asked? A doctor? Teacher? Scientist?
But no one ever ask, what kind of person do you want to be when you grow up? So often, skills trump character and ethics in our society. Skills, gifts and experience are all important, but what good is it to have them without the guidance of good character?
True. Your gift will make room for you. Your experience will even bring you before great people, but those alone will not keep you ahead of the game.
Shine among the stars eventually becomes a fleeting reality when you have a bad attitude and your behavior is not up to part. When we are adolescents the drive of conduct is enforced, but overtime making the grades and extra curricular activities become the focus, and the importance of having good character fades into the shadows.
We too often forget that our character and instilling good character is what drives the force of consumer demographics, economics and the overall wellness of communities and society in the real world. Character is emphasized on a daily basis in our communication, commitments and culture, but is still the most uncultivated trait of the human nature.π
Who helps guide our lives matters. They come in stages, events, occurrences and seasons. They leave a lasting impression good or bad.
As we get older, we can decide who influences us and speaks into our lives regularly. Bad habits through negative influences can be reconstructed into good habits over time through repitition and exposure to great influences and healthy communication and environments.
Our character shapes our world. We will be known not just for our talents and gifts not just our achievements and dreams but our character. So shine bright among the stars.
