What is your mindset as a leader? Is just to be present and heard? Is it just to delegate and be absent? Or are you a team player?
Leaders call. Leaders set in positions. However, excellent leaders lead their teams by example.
Excellent leaders don't just have your back. Excellent leaders are right there doing what is needed along side you. They help you get the job done to meet the demand.
Excellent leaders trust their team not micro-manage them. Never baby sit grown people. Tell them, show them what needs to be done and trust that they will do the work.
I am not telling you not to oversee the work or check on them, making sure that the work is getting done effectively and efficiently from time to time, but trust your team to do what you asked of them. People work better when you trust them to do their job or tasks. It pulls out the leadership within them and boost their confidence knowing you have faith in them to get it done.
Excellent leaders appreciate their team and celebrate their efforts and achievements. Make sure you value your entire team. Build meaningful, work related relationships with your team.
When I worked at the bank some years ago... the bank I worked for was big on building relationships with our customer's. That training sticks with me and guides how I approach teamwork and customer relations. Leaders take the lead in this, as I observed my own former leaders do time and time again.
What is your mindset? As a leader do you envision reaching the masses globally or are you one dimensional and never evolve how you see the world, innovation and your team? Being solution driven is key.
Know the problems, and fix them asap. Don't let problems linger. Get it done, and move on to building your team, consumer base and your vision.
Excellent leaders don't lead alone. They choose, train, equip and task others to help them to carry the vision forward when needed and when possible. Excel in all areas of leadership by actually being an exceptional leader that equips others to lead in their own capacity.
