The Power of Principal; Guided Principles/Rashea@LLO2 Academy
For decades we have been focused keenly on the mission. What's the mission? Post the mission.
Mission. Mission. Mission.π€£
And having a mission IS very important. It guides the vision. But let's go deeper. What is guiding your mission?
You might say, "A code of ethics. Or a collaboration of principles. Let's go even deeper. What is guiding your principles?
The guide to principles is THE principal guiding your beliefs in what you do and who you are as a visionary, a person, a leader, a team and a culture. The principal is the first attribute the contributes to and guides your life, beliefs, mission and vision. It is THE first and most significant component that keeps everything centered and on track. It is the anchor and the core of all you do and why you do what you do.
The principal of the kingdom of God is love. To love is to show concern, sympathy, empathy, patience, longsuffering, forgiveness, forbearance, gentleness, meekness, to be mild mannered in temperment, to correct without being harmful, abrasive or rash, to show kindness, warm-hearted, even- tempered & thoughtful. I am sure there are other synonyms and definitions, but this will do.ππ€£ God said we can be as skillful, spiritual and articulate as we want, but if we lack the principal of love that guides our lives principles, thoughts, behaviors, communication and commitments, all that we do is shallow and meaningless (1Corinthians 13-14:1-25).
As Christian's, EVERYTHING that we do must be guided by the first principal and that is to love God and to love people (Mark 12:30 & 31). Love was at the core and the center of all Jesus did, said, thought and prayed; how He prepared, where He went & who He healed and saved. The principal of love was the driving force of Jesus' mission to atone for the worlds sins and to raise up like-minded people that would carry on His mission after He ascended back to heaven.
When you are driven by the love of Jesus to do what you do, it keeps you accountable, motivated and focused on what is important. The principal of love adds significance to why you do what you do in all areas of your life.
I want to add, learn to love yourself. I cannot say it enough, take care of yourself. See value and not vanity in taking care of yourself and your health. What helps you win the battle over life's challenges and keeps your stress levels down? Good health habits, optimistic meditation and declaractions and deep breaths.
It is hard to see value in people places and things, when you lack the right balance of seeing value in yourself. Celebrate God and others, but take time to celebrate yourself. The next time you routinely do something you like... like grab a coffee to help you wake up... grab a coffee when you are wide awake and just because... and really savor the moment of just being.
The next time you go workout... do so with you and your good health on your mind not what others think about you on your mind. Workout because you care more about your good health more than others opinions of you. Workout because you love you.
It is difficult to continue to give to others the effort, energy, focus and care needed, if you are empty of what is needed to do so. A part of loving God and others is loving yourself. Be centered, be intentional, and in all you do be guided by God's love.
