Life In Our 40's... Impactful Fitness/Rashea@LLO2 Academy

Today I was meditating on fitness in our 40's. For the average woman fitness in our 40's should be low impact and not high impact. But why? Because of the span of recovery.

In your 40's... don't go to the extreme like you are still in your 20's and 30's.🀣 But why not? Because of the span of recovery.

Our bodies take longer to recover from working out than it did in our younger years. Even with taking probiotics, stretching & resting the joints and muscles... we want to adjust some of our methods while exercising. The goal is to not just have an impactful workout but to have an impactful recovery.

Okay. Switch up the reps and the weights. Ladies... cardio alone isn't going to keep the weight off or tone your body.🀦‍♀️πŸ‘€ You have to weight train to some degree. Lose and tone is the goal. What many women fail to realize is weight training will boost up your heart rate and metabolism quicker than the treadmill.

The calories you burn on the treadmill for an hour can be burned off in 15 to 20 minutes of weight training. You may have some muscles, but you can still be all lady and maintain your femininity. Stretch, hit the weights and do a 15 to 20 minute cool down on the treadmill or whatever cardio machine is available to you.

Doing a 15-20 minute cardio cool down, also, enables the muscles and joints to relax and to cool down after an intense exercise. Drink water, ladies.πŸ‘€ Staying hydrated keeps your joints and muscles cool, pliable and loose and the mind clear.

And listen to your body. It will tell you when your workout routine can be boosted up a notch or toned down a bit for an impactful workout and recovery. Life in our 40's.
