"Good morning, Nina," said Jesus.

(Yawn)

"Good morning, Lord," Nina replied as she wiped the sleep out of her eyes.

"Are you ready to be a disciple today," asked Jesus?

"Ah... What does all that entail," replied Nina?

"Voluntary obedience," Jesus said.

"Huh... Yes, Lord. I suppose," said Nina.

"Now what kind of attitude is that to have," Jesus asked?

"Well, you might ask me to do something that I really don't want to do. Do I still have to obey You," Nina said?

(Laughing)

"Yes, Nina," Jesus said.

"Huh... Yes, Lord. I suppose."🤣

"Start off by giving God thanks for another day," Jesus said to Nina.

"Huh... Yes Lord. I suppose." Dear Lord thank you for another day to be available to Jesus," said Nina.

"Very good. Now let's make this bed," Jesus said.

"Huh... Yes Lord, I suppose," Nina shrugged.

"That looks much better," Jesus said.

"What's next," Nina asked?

"Well... Let's get ready for school," Jesus said.

 "School? But it's Saturday. I don't have school on Saturday's Jesus," exclaimed Nina!

"I know. I know. I'm just testing your IQ being that you just woke up," said Jesus.😂

"Jesus...," said Nina.🤣

"Well. Discipleship never implied not having a sense of humor," Jesus said.

"Huh... I suppose you're right," Nina replied.


The Moral of the Lesson:

Discipleship is about being available and obedient to God. Discipleship is about building an awareness of the daily presence of Jesus in our lives even in the chores we have to complete. As we complete the natural things, we are building up our spiritual muscle of obedience to God.

Sometimes Jesus might ask us to do things that we really don't want to do at the moment, but discipleship is about growing in the daily disciplines of obeying God with a good attitude anyways. Jesus requires obedience, but He Himself has a sense of humor. He knows that chores may not always be fun, but your good attitude can help move things along a lot smoother. I suppose.🤣
