Life At 40+... Heart 2 Heart Women's Addition/Rashea@LLO2 Academy

Ladies life in our 40's can be a blessing when we pay attention to our bodies and nourish them as we should. The truth is... we get a lot of shade thrown at us by younger women and social media who love to prance around and show off their flawless physiques. But don't let the shade discourage you from focusing on what really matters. Your good health and longevity.

More than a flawless body... life in your forties for most women is about managing the demands of family life, work, maintaining healthy connections, finding some time in the day to breathe and still look halfway decent.πŸ˜‚πŸ€£ Trust me. I know girl. You are not alone.

As I said before... in every decade of your life you can sense your body changing. The mismanagement of your health when you were much younger catches up with you. Junk food becomes more of an irritant to your body than before.

Yeah... you can eat junk food as you get older, but it will come with consequences that can put your health at risk eventually. Our bodies were made to be healthy. So when we mismanage our health decisions... our bodies will let us know.

I cannot say it enough. Pay attention to your body more than you do the physique of other women who don't have your genetics, who don't have your life, who are not in your bracket of age or dealing with the changes and challenges of their body changing at 40+.

My advice... Let your body be the plumbline for physical success as a woman at all ages and stages of your life. If you are going to compare or compete with anyone... let it be yourself. Use your own life and health as a means to get better.

Challenge your own health decisions and eating habits. Do you want to lose weight or gain weight? Seek the Holy Spirit or a nutritional expert that can help you develop a realistic and budget friendly health plan, and get to it girl!

When I look back over my own weight loss journey after having my daughter... I'm like WOW God! Thank you!πŸ™ƒ It was not easy losing the weight. It took some time, but I am actually healthier overall after I had my daughter at 30 than when I had my son at 24.

But that's another thing. Every pregnancy is different, too. When I was pregnant with my son... I was still exercising by walking a lot and stretching and the weight just fell off, but my daughter was having none of that during my pregnancy with her.πŸ˜‚πŸ€£ Every movement with her bothered her. She would weigh on my tummy when I walked too much or moved too much, like... "No mommy. Sit down and rest."πŸ€£πŸ˜‚ So I did.

Your body is not your own during pregnancy. That's for sure. You are just a carrier of a little life. To have your body back after pregnancy is a BLESSING!πŸ˜‚πŸ€£πŸŽ‰

Even after pregnancy... Your body will go through some kind of changes not always in a bad way, but it will change. Pay attention to these changes, and take care of yourself. Life doesn't have to be a challenge in your 40's when you nurture your total being and maintain good health. Amen.

So... this brings me to this question someone asked. "Can rice make you fat?" The truth is any food can cause you to gain weight depending on your body tolerance and when you eat it.

Now that I am older... I cannot have oatmeal or bananas.πŸ‘€ They both bloat me really bad and make my tummy very uncomfortable for hours.πŸ₯΄ So. I stay away from them.

Then there are foods I did not like and would not eat growing up that I actually enjoy eating now. Again. Your body is changing and needs different things at different stages of your life. Give your health a big boost and give it what it needs not what you always want it to have.

Your body is made to adjust to what it needs. Give it what it needs, even if you don't like it at first... eventually your body will learn to develop an appetite for those things you need and reject what is not good for you.

You can yet be just as healthy, if not healthier in your 40's than when you were much younger. You must counter the changes in your body by giving it what it lacks and what it needs. Stay away from things that will cause your body not to perform at its highest potential.

I am 41 now going on 42... and when I first started noticing the changes in my body... I started to panic. But the Holy Spirit told me to relax. I sought Him in prayer and meditation and got some needed advice from Him and an older and wiser woman who already had been through what I was facing. The Holy Spirit gave me a healthy regimen that I can work and must incorporate in my lifestyle and diet at 40+ to help me maintain good healthy habits, with God's help.

My body is not like the next woman I am looking at. Genetics and differences within our lives and our bodies make us differ from one another. And don't think just because you come from the same family line that life will be the same as your other family members. Wrong!

Your body is made to fit you. So take care of it the way God shows you how. This is life in our 40's, ladies.πŸ‘πŸΎπŸ’― And it is a blessing!😊 Well... Most days.πŸ˜‚πŸ€£
