Kingdom Leadership 2024- The How To's of Making Good Decisions In Leadership/ Rashea@LLO2 Academy- Leadership Edition
Making good decisions require prayer, practice, experience, well thought through pros and cons, discernment, courage and faith. You're not going to always get it right the first time. No one does. Making the right decisions require you trying again, and sometimes that requires courage. But if you never try again, you won't grow your ability and capacity to make good decisions.
Making good decisions require you saying no to the wrong decisions. If things take you out of the way of your purpose, it's not the right decision. If it is negative, it is not the right decision. Good decisions align with God's Will, God's Word, God's timing and your vision. Good decisions are beneficial and lead to the right outcome.
Every good thing is a God thing, because all good things are from God. However, every good thing that is a God thing may not be the right thing for you. Knowing what God wants you to do and what decisions you should make as a leader will require prayer. Prayerfully ask God to reveal His will to you, and help you make the right decisions.
When they're the right decisions, you will have peace about them. Do you have peace? If so, proceed. If you are lacking peace, pause, and ask God for clarity on what it is you need to do. He will guide you.
The right decisions, also, bring unity, despite the push back you may experience. Everyone isn't comfortable with decisions or making them, but they have to be made. That's why you are a leader. Steer the ship in the direction the team needs to go not the direction they want to go.
Not everyone is comfortable with decisions and making them, because decisions will require change. Some people despise change. They want everything to stay as it is, even if that means their methods and mission is out of date.π
Not everyone is comfortable with decisions and making them, because it will require them to change. Some people don't like putting effort into staying relevant. They become like tree stumps in leadership. They are unwilling to budge or progress. These leaders and team members make everyone else that is willing and ready to change and progress miserable.π
Not everyone is comfortable with decisions and making them, because change requires learning new methods and fine tuning the vision. Some people despise learning new information. They despise knowledge. Some people really believe that ignorance is bliss.π
Some people don't like decisions and making them, because they don't want to feel illiterate. They love feeling smart. Learning new things may expose their weaknesses.π
Some people don't like decisions and making them, because decisions may call for a new rotation in leadership. Depending on the rotation, people may be called to fulfill a new and role that better suits them. But the only problem with that is, that will require change.π
As a leader in a leading role, you have to be willing to prayerfully make tough calls and tough decisions that are for the betterment of the whole team and vision. Good leaders are good at making good decisions, because they do what has to be done no matter who is against the adjustments. Your team will either adjust or they will move on. Hold your course, and steer the ship in the right direction.
