Kingdom Fitness 2024 Edition/Life at 40 and Beyond... Choosing Healthy Leisure

Your leisure is your business. However, keep in mind, your preferences will always have an outcome good or bad. Boring? No... What some people deem boring is actually safe. Safe for you and for others.

I look back at my younger years while trying to be in the mist of the in crowd and I often found myself bearing more consequences than peace and happiness.🀦‍♀️πŸ™ƒ Life calls for better decisions, a better inner circle and maturity.

Maturity and experience says, "Think this through." I am so glad for life in my 40's. To look back and to see how far I have come with God's help. WOWZERS!

I am not saying that my 20's and 30's were terrible, but I had to GROW into being more aware and more vocal about what is best for Rashea. Sometimes, you cannot just go with the flow, because sometimes going with the flow will leave you frustrated, stressed out and less productive. Dreams on pause?πŸ‘€
No.

Choose leisure that brings your dreams to life. There's nothing wrong with coming along side others and partnering with them to fulfill mutual dreams, tasks and goals. However, there is something very wrong with you abandoning the dreams and things that fulfill you as a person to appease others asks of you. If having leisure silences your dreams, check your leisure not your dreams.

What some deem a boring life is actually a very calming life for me. I feel more centered. Moreover, I am more present in the moment, with God's help.

My leisure now doesn't imply that life still doesn't happen, but it happens a lot less, because of my preferences and circle. I was taught in my 20's to get around and stay around people who are either going where you're going or are already there in life. That advice has carried me into my 40's. I still live by that principle, 20 years later.

What people deem boring is actually pretty entertaining. I cry. I laugh. I love. I live. I dream!

Choosing, well, growing into leisure that suits me now has had its rewards. It's been therapeutic in so many ways. A walk. Reading a book nestled in a comfy chair. A warm blanket and a good nap. Comforting and rejuvenating.

Choose leisure that doesn't just pass the time but saves time. Choose leisure that makes you feel more in control of your life and day. Choose leisure that leaves your more rested and happy and less stressed out and frustrated.

As we get older, our bodies do not handle stress like it did when we were much younger. Our bodies react quicker, and it takes more time to recover from. Be smart, and choose wisely.

There are some preferences I had in my younger years that maturity dissolves. Better relationships. More meaningful connections and moments. I realize that each moment and each day is more precious than the years and days in yesteryear.
