What the Kingdom of God Is Not- Idolatry🚫(Ezekiel 8)/ Rashea@LLO2 Academy

God is anti-idolatry. God despises idolatry. Why? Because idolatry turns our hearts away from God. Idolatry pollutes our hearts with carnality. Carnality is an enemy of God.

Carnality opposes God's will, God's ways and God's Word. Carnality glorifies sin in the mind first. The deeds done good or bad stem from our hearts. However, those deeds done begin first as thoughts.

When our hearts are polluted with carnality, our worship of God will be polluted with sin, and diluted by sin. Carnality tries to reason the existence of God. Carnality sees humanity and creation as God's equal.πŸ‘€πŸ™ƒ

Carnality is debase thinking. Whatever we think on, we will begin to believe is right. What we consistently think on forms thinking patterns. Whatever we believe forms belief patterns.

The Bible teaches us in 2Corinthians 10:3-6 that 3 We live in this world, but we don't act like its people or fight our battles with the weapons of this world. Instead, we use God's power that can destroy fortresses. We destroy arguments and every bit of pride that keeps anyone from knowing God. We capture people's thoughts and urge them to obey Christ. And when you completely obey Him, we will punish (correct) anyone who refuses to obey the Word of God (in grace and love).

Standing up against idolatry isn't arrogance. Standing up against idolatry in God's house, in society, on social media, in our households and families, the workplace and in our communities is the mandate of a born again believer according to Ephesians 6:10-19. God was always raising up prophets, judges and priests who spoke up and stood up against idolatry in the Bible.

Idolatry grieves God's heart. Idolatry distortes how we see God. Let me ask you, "How do you see God? Do you see God through performance, or through a humble spirit that's submitted to God? Do you see God through the means of religion or a personal relationship with Him?"

Yes, God does want us to keep His Word, but practicing the Word of God outside of salvation is nothing more than religious jargon. It is always God's desire that we approach His presence and worship through a regenerated relationship with Him.

In Ezekiel 8, God locates an internal problem with the Israelities worship. Externally speaking, they looked religiously up to part. However, God led Ezekiel deeper into their hearts, way beyond the surface of religious duties.

God exposed the hearts of worshippers and those serving in God's house. Jealousy was an usher at the door. They were worshipping the sun and not the Son of God. Idolatry was the motivation of leaders and worshippers in God's house.

They turned their backs on God in His own house, and God was not happy. How long did God see this and deal with this dishonor, before He revealed it to Ezekiel. How long does God show mercy and put up with our idolatry, before He speaks up?πŸ™ƒπŸ˜³πŸ’

What we serve and who we serve will be exposed, eventually. We can only hide our hearts true motivations for so long. If we are true Christians, it will show. If not, that will show, too.

There is nothin wrong with serving our fellow man and our leaders. There is nothing wrong with esteeming others or enjoying life. However, when we esteem those things more than God, but find little to no time for God while consuming all our time with people and things, it becomes idolatry and dishonorable.

God is unwavering when it comes worship and how He wants to be worshipped. "Thou shall worship the Lord thy God, and worship Him (in eternal exaltation) alone. I will have no other gods before me (Exodus 20:1-5)."πŸ‘€ If that doesn't make you tremble.

The audacity of God's people to revere other deities above God offended God. It was dishonorable and a disservice to God in Ezekiel 8. The children of Israel were never fully detoxed of the ways of the foreign lands around them where worshipping strange gods was normalized.

They did not have a strong root of the Kingdom of God within themselves. They, often times, revered idols, kings and kingdoms estranged to God more than God. They would cry out to God in lamentations, but as soon as God rescued them and restored their power and hope, they went right back to their Idolatrous ways.

When there is no strong root of the Kingdom of God in us, we are easily swayed and led astray by strange beliefs and strange gods. Get deeply rooted in God not religion. Religion outside of God can become more oppressive than liberating, in many aspects. Religion cannot save us. Only a relationship with Jesus through genuine repentance can save us from sin and eternal destruction.

God is not pressing us to be perfect like religion does or the religious do. God seeks to have a personal relationship with us who have received Jesus as our Lord and Savior. God improves our lives, as we surrender to Him and the practical ways of the Bible.

Christianity isn't about us changing ourselves. Like the Apostle Paul said, "It's about Christ living through us." Bearing and displaying the nature of Christ draws us closer to God.

Religion can become idolatry. Religion either oppresses Christians for their shortcomings, over spiritializes God's requirements, or becomes way too carnal.🀦‍♀️πŸ™ƒ Christianity is about balance. Christianity is a lifelong journey of becoming better not perfect in the sense of never having shortcomings.

If there was no need for God's grace, Jesus would not had bore the cross on calvary's hill. Christianity is about keeping our hearts, minds, lives and faces toward God, despite our imperfections. It's about the yes of our hearts to God's will.

We must assess our own hearts. We must ask ourselves, "Where am I really with God in my life?" It is not enough to come to church or even to be a participant at church events. We must all receive eternal salvation for ourselves, and practice the Word of God as our highest Source of daily living for ourselves no matter who has turned their backs to God.
