The Worth & Wisdom of Manhood (God's Men Going Bible)/ You Have Been Called... Session 9/ Rashea@LLO2 Academy

As a man, as a son, as a father, and as a leader, God has called you. Rise from the rubble of a fragmented past where your dreams were trampled on and overlooked. Rise from the pressures to meet the families expectations of you and desires for you.

You are worthy to dream your own dream. You have been called. Yes, chosen!

Jeremiah grew up in a priestly family. And I am sure his dad had aspirations for him to follow in his footsteps. But Hilkiah's aspirations for Jeremiah were interrupted by God's calling for Jeremiah.

"I have called you and appointed you as a prophet. You have oversight over the nations." -Jeremiah 1:5 & 10

So what do you do when God's call for your life isn't what your family had in mind? What do you do when it breaks away from the family legacy (this is what we do and this who we are)? YOU FOLLOW GOD.

There is no peace in putting family and friends aspiration's for your life above God's call on your life. To suppress God's will for your life and what purpose stirs inside your heart just to appease people is misery. Why add stress to your life?

Release and relief. Life is already stressful. And society is already tough on men.

"You're a man. Suck it up!" Um... excuse me. Whoever came up with that notion was not intouch with the reality that men and the male gender have feelings too that can enable them or prevent them from pursuing the dreams that stir inside their souls.

Jeremiah had a choice to make. Do I honor the legacy of my father and disobey God's call on my life? Or do I obey God's call on my life, help save generations from generational oblivion and still honor my families legacy of worshipping Yaweh Jehovah above all?

I am sure it was a tough decision to make. Seeing the disappointment on your family and friends faces and hearing their disagreements with your decisions would not make any decision stirring in your heart easy. But that's just it. Jeremiah's decision was rooted in his heart.

His decision was of value. It was a standard for his life. No matter what pressures came up against Jeremiah, he set his face a flint and purposely pursued God's plan on his life.

Are you willing to break away from family traditions to set a new trajectory of what is truly possible for your family and friends, as a man? It takes fortitude, and it takes courage. Be brave JEREMIAH. There's a calling of God on your life.
