The Kingdom of God; Encountering and Spending Time with Jesus... The Praying Jesus/ Rashea@LLO2 Academy
While the disciples saw Jesus in the posture of prayer, they asked Him to teach them how to pray. There is a way to pray. Prayer is communicating with God. Prayer is, also, a heart posture.
The proclivity of our hearts must be in a posture to hear from God. Prayer isn't about us running off at the mouth, and saying amen. Prayer is mutual communication with us and God. God speaks, and we posture our hearts to listen. We speak, God listens and gives strategic answers.
"Our Father Who is in heaven. Your name is revered and holy." Quiet your soul, and listen... Be still, and listen.
What is God saying? When people encountered God through times of prayer in the Bible, they were healed, delivered, guided and received the blessing of God. Prayer is the supernatural gateway to God.
Jesus knew that. The prophets knew that. Also, the disciples of the Old and New Testament knew that.
The question is, do we know that? Do we prat beyond worship services? Are we disciples of prayer throughout the week, in our day to day lives.
"Jesus teach us how to pray." Teach us how to pray fervently. Teach us how to pray effectively.
Prayer is constant dialog with God throughout the day. "Lord, guide me. Lord, help me. Lord, go before me."
Do you pray like that? Are your prayers God centered or self-centered? Are you only praying for you, your needs, your wants, your complaints, your circumstances?
Do you pray for others? Are you led by God when you pray? Let God pray through you. Let Him show you who to pray for and what to pray about.
The fervent effectual prayers of a believer will prevail. Breakthrough is in prayer. Healing is in prayer. Your next steps are in prayer.
Lord, direct my steps. Show me your plan. Keep me on the right pathway.
Give power to the voice of God in your life through times of prayer. Don't just be heard. Learn to listen as God speaks.
