The Kingdom of God; Encountering and Spending Time with Jesus... The Divine Encounter of Jesus/ Rashea@LLO2 Academy

Jesus often said to His disciples, "When you have seen Me, you have seen the Father (John 14:9)." Was Jesus implying that He was both God the Father and God the Son? No. Jesus confirmed that, although He and the Father are one in harmony and nature, God the Father is greater than Himself (John 14:28).

Jesus was the incarnate nature and image of God. He reflected the nature and deity of God the Father in all that He did and created. Everything God the Father is Jesus is, patterns and reflects with precision (John 1:1, 5:19-20, 14:10-11; Colossians 1:15-17).

Jesus said, "I do nothing on my own accord. Everything that I do the Father does and has done. Me and My Father are harmoniously united as one."

Jesus was not diminishing His own significance. He understood His assignment and Who He was and is. However, He, also, understood that His significance began with God the Father. Without God the Father, Jesus significance would not exist (John 3:16; Philippians 2:5-11/Amplified Version).

God the Father's will and power worked through Jesus to redeem the world from sins mastery and destruction (2Corinthians 5:19/Amplified Version). When we encounter the presence, power and nature of Jesus, we are, also, encountering the presence, power and nature of God the Father. Jesus unleashed the power of the Kingdom of God over those He saved, healed and delivered from oppression.

Encountering the presence of Jesus and spending time with Him brought new meaning to lives. He restored hope. Jesus, also, imparted faith that unlocked the supernatural power of God and the Kingdom of God.

The same power and authority Jesus had, He freely gave to His disciples and apostles (Mark 3:13-15, 16:15-18; Luke 6:12-16, 9:1, 2 & 6, 10:1-2, 18-20). The disciples moved from hearing, seeing and being called by Jesus to activation and manifesting the Kingdom of God. Jesus taught them and then imparted a greater level of trust and power to them to co-labor with Him.

Encountering and spending time with Jesus unlocked a new paradigm of purpose, possibility and power in the lives of Jesus disciples. They were ordinary people who did extraordinary things. They went from being disciples to becoming well seasoned leaders empowered to raise up leaders and disciples around the world. (Acts 2, 4:36, 9, 10, 11:22-25 & 13.)

Encountering and spending time with Jesus revealed the strengths and weaknesses of Jesus and Jesus disciples. Yes, although Jesus was fully God, because He was also human, He experienced weaknesses and despair, frustration and saddness, perplexity and joy just like we do. (Luke 22:39-44; 47-61; John 11, 18, 20:24-31, 21:15-23.)

Encountering and spending time with Jesus cultivates a solid friendship with Jesus that has longevity (John 15:14-16).

Jesus is our Lord and Savior. However, Jesus is also a trusted friend that sticks closer than our own families. Jesus said to His disciples, "I no longer call you servants but friends. For a servant doesn't know the personal thoughts and plans of their master or superior, but I have revealed the Father's personal thoughts and plans to you and now call you My friends."
Jesus does not only save us and empower us to be co-laborers with Him, but as we encounter Jesus and spend time with Him, He calls us His friends.
