Emotionally Healthy Spirituality with Peter Scazzero... Healing the Inner Me God's Way Challenge to Change/ Rashea@LLO2 Academy

Respecting your full humanity is a tall order. Improving can be hard, but it can be done with due diligence.

The holistic human being is made up of 5 distinct parts that cohesively work together to make us a holistic individual that is undivided in spirit, soul and body.

Assess the 5 areas of holistic living in your life. Overall, how are you doing in each of these areas based on a scale 1 to 5?

The 5 Distinct Components of a Holistic Individual:

.Socially ________

.Intellectually ________

.Spiritually ________

.Physically ________

.Emotionally ________

What needs to change in each of these 5 areas? Find your balance. Depending on your personality type, everyone's balance will differ.

Very good! Congratulations on improving in these areas. It's important to be honest with yourself. Take a honest assessment of where you are leading up to today.

Peter Scazzero says, "God made us as whole people, in His image (Genesis 1:27). That image includes physical, spiritual, emotional, Intellectual, and social dimensions. Ignoring any aspect of who we are as men and women (males and females) made in God's image always results in destructive consequences- in our relationship with God, with others, and with ourselves. ...An individual who is emotionally underdeveloped is not always obvious. Over time, as we become involved with them in our interactions, that reality becomes readily apparent."

Can you pinpoint moments in your life where you've felt imbalanced socially, intellectually, spiritually, physically and emotionally? Why?

In order to improve our lives and overcome the void, we must discover its root cause. Many people live many years with the presence of the void, but you don't have to. Some people never overcome the void, but you can!

As you take personal responsibility for how you feel, you will see the side effects of the void decrease. Feelings of emptiness, co-dependency, bad decision making, loneliness, people pleasing, depression, anxiety, moodiness, bouts of anger, low self-esteem, extremities of needing too much attention, fears of being left alone, indecision, conflict, and unreasonable asks, expectations and desires will decrease and diminish over time.

Overcoming the void is realistic and possible. However, it will take some due diligence. You have to do the work. You have to do your part.

God made each of us to be holistic. That was His plan from the beginning (Genesis 1:26-18). However, Satan's sly plan got in the way of God's holistic plan for mankind (Genesis 3).

Therefore, I encourage you to:

.Watch conversations that will lead to you question God's instructions and will for your life.

.Eliminate and decrease bad decision making.

.Hold fast to God's Word and instructions.

Now, assess your feelings:

Do you feel depleted and defeated?
Where, how and why? What caused it?

Do you feel vulnerable and desperate?
Where, how and why? What caused it?

Do you feel easily agitated and overwhelmed?
Where, how and why? What caused it?

Do your emotions and thoughts feel scattered and inconsistent?
Where, how and why? What caused it?

Peter Scazzero communicates that the Daily Office which encourages time with God throughout your day is helpful to overcoming the void.

Remember, there's no one way to do the Daily Office. The Daily Office is different for everyone. It is a emotional and spiritual practice that is comprised to fit our personal lives according to our personality type, daily schedules and lifestyles.

Peter Scazzero says, "Stopping for the Daily Office and Sabbath is not meant to add another to-do to our already busy schedules. It is the resetting of our entire lives toward a new destination- God. It is an entirely new way of being in the world. ...When done as a "want to" rather than a "have to," they offer us a rhythm for our lives that binds us to the living God."
