Happy Harvest- Rashea@LLO2 Academy/TYFJB Academy... Friday Night TYFJB Academy Edition
1 May God be gracious to us and bless us
and make his face shine on us—
2 so that your ways may be known on earth,
your salvation among all nations.
3 May the peoples praise you, God;
may all the peoples praise you.
4 May the nations be glad and sing for joy,
for you rule the peoples with equity
and guide the nations of the earth.
5 May the peoples praise you, God;
may all the peoples praise you.
6 The land yields its harvest;
God, our God, blesses us.
7 May God bless us still,
so that all the ends of the earth will fear him.
Psalms 67:1-7
The Alternative
Hold up. STOP!🛑 Don't stop the celebration.
Many Christians either compromise and celebrate Halloween or shut in and don't celebrate anything at all. Where's the fun in that? Children don't understand the difference. They have to be taught the difference between Halloween and harvest.
As a Christian parent or teacher, if you're going to take Halloween away as a means of a celebration, give your children or the children an alternative to Halloween. Make sure you explain to them WHY we prefer not to celebrate Halloween. Jesus died and rose again so that we can live and ENJOY the abundant life that He so freely offers to every Christian and their families, friends and communities. They goodness of God is something worth celebrating this time of year.
When I was a child, although I did not celebrate Halloween, my church celebrated Hallelujah Day filled with Bible characters and stories. We had a party filled with candy, food and fun. We were given a brief message from a youth leader or our pastors. I still remember how fun Hallelujah Day was.☺️ Every child looked forward to it.
Now that I am an adult, I now call Hallelujah Day, Happy Harvest.🍁🍂 Autumn time is a time to reflect on the goodness of God and to offer thanks for all He has provided for us. Children can still dress up in fun characters filled with their favorite Marvel characters, a career field of choice, a Bible character, an appropriate theme or some fun pj's without all the gore and spooky horror that keeps you up all night in terror.😳😂
Parents here are a few fun ideas:📓🖋
.Have a harvest party with pumpkins and pumpkin and apple snacks and desserts.
.Watch family movies.
.Play harvest or Bible charades.
.Choose a Bible theme for your celebration.
.Bake pumpkin cookies or pies together.
.Make carmel apples and let your children choose a topping.
.Have a bond fire and make s,mores.
.Go walk the orchards maze and pick some pumpkins and mums.
.Setup a candy bowl for something a little sweet.
The ideas are endless. But whatever you do, make it fun! Make it a harvest party worth remembering and passing onto to your generations to come.
