Think On These Things- Rashea@LLO2 Academy/TYFJB Academy... Friday Night TYFJB Academy Edition

My brothers and sisters in Christ, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable—if there is any moral excellence for the building up and regeneration of the soul, and if there is anything praiseworthy—dwell on these things.
(Philippians 4:8).

Through Jesus and with the help of the Holy Spirit, you can train your brain to think on what's right and not wrong.

A great way to measure your thoughts and keep yourself accountable to the Bible is to ask yourself, "Do these thoughts offend God or others? Will these thoughts have lasting success or consequences? Do these thoughts progress me in the path of my goals, dreams and purpose or away from them?"

Philippians 4:8 is a great way to develop and maintain a good way of thinking. I call it the Philippians 4:8 check. Check your thoughts. Weigh them against the Word of God.

As a young person growing up around a new age culture, it is important to assess your thoughts daily. Social society and social media redefines everything under the sun. Don't get lost in the maze of the war on words or thoughts.

Think on implies to ponder; to consider; to follow through thoroughly, repetitively focus your thoughts and words on; build healthy thought patterns around; this is your mindset or mentality.

Think on things that build you up not tear you down; things that make you happy not miserable, angry or sad; things that bring glory to God; things that display honor, respect, common ground, unity, godly love and concern; things that bring peace and not conflict or disaster; things that lead to success and blessings God's way.

Your positive thoughts can turn a bad day around. They can prepare you to overcome fear, peer pressure, bouts of anger and depression. Your positive thoughts can bring you closer to God and to other good people. Having good thoughts can prepare you for your future.

Your negative thoughts nor the negative thoughts of others doesn't have to be your hurdles. Training your mind to think positive can become your ladder to the next level. Find safety in thinking positively about God, yourself and others.
