The Evolutionof the Educator- Rashea@LLO2 Academy/TYFJB Academy... Friday Night TYFJB Academy Edition

Honor your path. Everything is exciting when it's new a fresh. However, can teaching and pouring into the lives of students be exciting 5, 10 or even 20 years from now?

When you experience the evolution of students, colleagues, the board of directors and administration, or even yourself as a person and teacher how do you approach changes and challenges? Are you even tempered and responsible? Or are you hot headed and impulsive?

Are you responsive? Or are you reactive? Do you shutdown, lash out and take the evolution of education, students and colleagues out on others? Or do you take a step back and say, "This is new, different or challenging. Which direction is best, and what steps do I need to take to experience and see the best results?"

Education, scholastic learning and development, and people like science is always evolving. Teachers, students and administrators are always learning new knowledge and concepts. They try create concepts that are innovative, expansive and adaptable that can work for everyone. If you, as a teacher are one dimensional in how you think and perceive education, diversity and the world, then building expansive and adaptable concepts, community and communication will be difficult for you and others that you teach and work with.

Yes, lay and establish a solid foundation for educational purposes, but build on that. Evolve. Have fun teaching, connecting with others and growing.

If you are having a hard time embracing the evolution of colleagues, students and education in your community and school, seek guidance from a trusted colleague or friend that sees the beauty in inclusion, ideas, creativity, and opportunities that are helping to transform lives, families and the classroom. Sometimes, evolution takes time. Seeing the results takes time, too. However, if you begin to see that the evolution of concepts, education and inclusion are working and progressing, but yet you are hesitant or resistant to them, then maybe the problem is not evolution, inclusion or the education bracket. Maybe the issue is within you.

We all come to a place where we can either embrace change or are taught the lesson. Learning the lesson can be hard. If life grants you the opportunity to embrace change, then in a safe way with the right approach and information, do so.

Your road to education doesn't always have to be miserable and difficult. It doesn't have to be about just coming to work and collecting a check. Teaching can be just as exciting as it was when you first started your journey, as you take the time to evolve, get involved, and stay informed on what matters.

Yet he knows the way I have taken;
when he has tested me, I will emerge as pure gold. -Job 23:10

Teach me to live according to your truth, for you are my God, who saves me. I always trust in you. (Psalms 25:5).

I am teaching you the way of wisdom;
I am guiding you on straight paths.
(Proverbs 4:11).
