The Importance of Hard Work Even When It Appears To Be Ineffective In the Moment/ Rashea@LLO2 Academy/ TYFJB Academy... Friday Night TYFJB Academy Edition
Welcome to TYFJB Academy! Tonight, I want to discuss the importance of diligence. Hard work does work even when others tell you it's too much or a waste of time.
The Book of Proverbs speaks extensively on diligence, but so does other books of the Bible. To be diligent is to persist; to keep going; to work with grit; to put forth an effort; to keep moving forward; to be determied; exercising the will and determination not to quit or tire at a goal, task, or endeavor that is working and progressing.
Why do some people speak negatively about hard work? They speak negatively about hard work, because they are lazy, idol or comfortable with just doing enough. Most people who speak negatively about hard work tire quickly when performing tasks.
Idol people slander people who are diligent in their work, because it exposes their laziness. That's the truth. People who are lazy despise people who are not lazy.
When it appears your diligence is in vain, it's not. God will bring people around you that appreciate your diligence and support you instead of penalizing you for being a great worker or student at your tasks. I want to encourage every young person to remain diligent.
Continue to work hard and cultivate a great work ethic. Be studious even when others are slacking. Doing so can open up great opportunities for you within the power of those who genuinely support your efforts to make achieving a mission and the overall success of you and others.
So who's watching me? God is. Your reward and promotion is in God's hands.
When critics criticize you and tell you, hard work is a waste of time, ignore them. It's not a waste of time. Hard work develops stamina, consistency, character and endurance. Where others tire, you keep going to reach the finish line.
Going the extra mile has its challenges, but it, also, has its rewards. Being an overachiever doesn't communicate perfection but a winning attitude. Going the extra mile advances goals, visions, dreams, teams and the mission.
Everyone who ever made a real difference and became great were diligent people. They didn't give up. They kept trying, studying, working, pursuing and a working on things people said were ordinary, senseless and extreme. They pushed the bar and overcame limitations, bias and opinions of what hard work is and success looks like.
They, also, overcame stereotypes of who economists and socialists prematurely implied can and cannot be successful in life, endeavors and various fields. What if you are called and chosen to push the bar, to change the trajectory of possibilities? Will you answer the call? Will you work hard and go the extra mile? You should.
Don't believe the negative opinions about hard work, discipline, accountability and success. Opinions are fleeting. Society is changing. Moreover, conformity to the culture is mediocre living.
Understand that hard work is extremely valuable. Value your time, but also value your efforts. Understand that every plan, tasks, mission and vision will require balance, focus and hard work.
10 God is not unjust; he will not forget your work and the love you have shown him as you have helped his people and continue to help them.
11 We want each of you to show this same diligence to the very end, so that what you hope for may be fully realized.
12 We do not want you to become lazy, but to imitate those who through faith and patience inherit what has been promised.
