Sound Counsel; Getting the Right Advice

Is counseling really necessary? For some, depending on the level of trauma or pressure they are under, it is. If you need guidance while working through your problems, I do recommend that you reach out and seek the help you need to move forward in your life.

Now, does everyone needing counseling seek it out? No, they don't. I get it. Telling someone and entrusting them with your challenges, hopes and dreams can be scary.

However, trying to navigate through life on your own without the right guidance can lead to harm and unnecessary circumstances. Those in distress tend to turn to harmful habits. Turning to destructive behaviors can lead to devastating consequences.

Don't deny there's a problem. Being in denial can lead to unnecessary mismanagement of your life, emotions, decisions, and relationships. Moreover, being in denial affects you and those around you.

When you are in denial of your problems, others around you can see it. They can tell that something is wrong. Those who care about you can encourage you to get help, but ultimately, it's in your power to seek it out.

Trusted family and friends are wonderful support systems. They can help you navigate through challenges. BUT I want to caution you to be courteous about the weight that you tend to put on them. People that love you are already dealing with their own lives, families and challenges. So be mindful of that.

When seeking out help from family and friends, you have to ask yourself, "Can they handle my burdens? If I were to tell them, how will this affect our relationship?" The truth is, some people can handle your feelings and challenges with care, and others can't.

You don't want to chase people away with your problems, or tell someone mattersof the heart who'll betray your trust. Always telling people about your problems can cause them to withdrawal. If you are too anxious or clingy, you can appear burdensome. Keep in mind that there is a wrong way and a right way to grieve, and to deal with your problems. Grieving too long over a situation can cause avoidance and unnecessary challenges from others.

I'm not discouraging you from reaching out for support. However, what I am communicating is the importance of reaching out with wisdom and courtesy of others around you. Sometimes, it's best to seek out an expert to help you.

Experts can advocate for you from a neutral zone. They will tell you what you need to hear not alwsys what you want to hear. Being told what you want to hear can keep you trapped in your issues past their expiration date.

You need a clear road map out of your problems. Receiving the proper counseling from a counselor, mentor, or spiritual leader can help you resolve your issues a lot easier and sooner. They can give you the right kind of help and guidance that will help reset your life and you life's course.

We live in the 21st century. There are counselors and experts available on-line through zoom and the internet. You can receive counseling in the comfort of your own space and on your own time.

More importantly, I recommend that you seek God, and seek out godly counsel. Seeking God through prayer and His Word brings trusted results. Your burdens will lift a lot quicker.

God brings a calm to your spirit and soul that's indescribable. Your problems are resolved without the unnecessary pressure or friction. You'll look back and ask, "God when when did you do it?"

The counsel of God is seamless. It minimizes your streess and maximizes your peace and progress. God is all about resolve and results.

Keep in mind that spiritual warfare is a real thing. There are some challenges that only God can fix. Even having a trusted support system can't fix everything. People can only do so much, but remember, God can do all things, even the hard things.

Help IS available to you. I encourage you to reach out, and seek it out. It's more important than ever to get your life together. Let 2026 be the year that everything burdening you changes for the better.
