You're Not Your Biggest Enemy In Leadership

Know when you're holding yourself back and when others are holding you back. I don't agree with the slogan, "You are your biggest enemy or critic." That's not always true. Furthermore, many leaders will tell you that many of the battles and challenges they've had to face and overcome resulted from people pursuing them with the wrong intentions in mind.

Leaders can be and often are their greatest advocate. Advocating for yourself is powerful and possible. It shows that you care about your feelings, purpose, and well-being.

Caring about yourself isn't arrogance. It's called self compassion. It shows that you are intuned with your life and how God is guiding and protecting you from circumstances and outcomes that aren't His will for your life or future.

Never allow anyone to make you feel bad for caring about yourself and advocating for yourself in leadership. Leaders are so often stressed out, drained and pulled in directions they don't want to be pulled into, because they fail to speak up and stand up for themselves.  As a leader, no one is called to bear your burdens, fight your battles, or excel in your purpose like you. You have to know your own value and level of importance. If you don't people will stigmatize you and limit your potential and progress.

When you're doing what God has called you to do, you are extraordinary already!☺️ God calls us out of mediocrity into a extraordinary life according to his standard and purpose for us. Don't get trapped in the hamster wheel of people pleasing. People are never satisfied. They will applaud you, promote you, and then change up on you. I'm not saying everyone does that, but some do.

When others criticize you for excelling snd advocatingforyourself, stop. Take a moment to see how far you've come and how much your voice and opinion matter. Celebrate your victories. Then, proceed forward with your journey, and progress.

You may not always be able to silence the voices of negativity around you, but you can ignore them. You can rise above. You can trust the belief you have in God and yourself. Walk away, and let them destroy themselves with their own negativity.

Many, if not most prosperous and successful leaders, would tell you that getting to where they are now wasn't easy. They would tell you that they, too, had to ignore negative voices and emotions. They would tell you that it required moving forward and moving on from people, places and things that were bringing them down.

The truth is you can outgrow people. You can outgrow a space or even a place, sometimes even a path. When you do... that's God's gentle tug informing you, it's okay to grow up and move on.

Don't allow people to hold you down and back just because they're not ready to see you evolve as a person and a leader. You've earned your right to be the person God already predestined you to be. You deserve to win.

Liberation isn't the absence of resistance. Liberty is the act of walking in that decree and declaration of freedom in the midst of resistance and indifference. Remember this, you are not your greatest enemy or critic, but you can be your greatest advocate.
