LIVING A NEW LIFE IN JESUS/Rashea@LLO2 Academy
19 Now the works of the flesh are evident: sexual immorality, impurity, sensuality,
20 idolatry, sorcery, enmity, strife, jealousy, fits of anger, rivalries, dissensions, divisions,
21 envy, drunkenness, orgies, and things like these. I warn you, as I warned you before, that those who do such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.
22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,
23 gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.
24 And those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.
25 If we live by the Spirit, let us also keep in step with the Spirit.
-Galatians 5
So, is it wrong to sin?
Yes. But God extends grace to the sinner, when they ask for wholehearted forgiveness. The truth is... We are all imperfect human beings. I haven't met a perfect saint yet.π€When you do, let me know.π€£
Jesus is perfect in His love, grace and mercy toward us. All have sinned, and all fall short of the glory of God. We are justified through Christ Jesus who atoned for our many faults and failures.
But does the grace card give us the right to go on sinning? Absolutely not. Grace is the avenue that leads us in the Way of life in the here and now.
God doesn't want you to wait to be your best self when you get to heaven. Everyone there will be perfect.π€£. God wants you to shine right here and right now and to live your best life in an imperfect world.
People will come to know Jesus not just by reading the Bible, but through YOU and how you live your life on a daily basis through Jesus and the power of the Holy Spirit working through you.
Imperfect beings who surrender to Jesus are utilized by Jesus in extraordinary ways.ππ No one God ever called to complete a mission was perfect. Heck no!π
They all had hang ups, hick ups and things that they could not handle in their own strength or power. But God called them any way. God loves baffling people. He loves taking extraordinary measures in what appears mundane. He loves taking ordinary people and doing extraordinary things with their lives.
Their past faults or failures don't disqualify them nor do their inadequacies. If you would just say yes to the call of God on your life, He will give you everything you need to get the job done.
Jeremiah, Moses, Isaiah, Mary, Esther, Sarah Gideon, Jonah and Peter all tried making excuses to disqualify themselves from the will of God. While others like Joseph, David, Solomon and even Jesus Himself, had conflict with others who attempted to disqualify them. God accepted no excuse,π€ and utilized them all mightily for His plans and purposes. God is not intimidated by what we don't have, because He will show us what it is that we do have to fulfill the assignment.
All it takes is mustard seed faith, y'all. A mustard seed among many other seeds seems so small and incomparable, but over the course of time... that seed that appeared so tiny and useless grows up to be a tree that's big and strong among all the rest. It doesn't let the weather, the dirt or the moisture keep it as a seed. Over the course of time, it stretches its roots and grows to its fullest potential, standing strong in the dirt, absorbing the moisture and withstanding the seasons.
Choose to align to Jesus. Allow the Holy Spirit to empower you to overcome and to live your best life yet. The best is here; right here and right now. Today.ππ
