Whether I am standing in the shadows.
Or laying down in the glimmer of the light.
Whether my hair is short.
Or whether my hair is long.
Your bias or opinions about age does not define me.
I am a working woman.
I am a black woman.
I am a woman of power.
I am a woman of strength.
I have a story to tell.
I have a life to live.
I am fierce.
I am calm.
I am unique and well defined.
I am evolving.
And I have become.

I am a mom.

I am a wife.

I am a companion.

I am a daughter.

I am a friend.

Age is the essence of becoming.

Age is finding your joy.

Age is the ability to look ahead and never look back.

Age is embracing the beauty from within.

Age is my motivation not my limitation.

Who says becoming older has to be boring?

Who says being you isn't attractive?

Everyday I will awaken and be the best me, because age doesn't define me. It only refines who I am becoming.
