Loving God as Father/Rashea@LLO2 Academy
God exist in three Persons. God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. Although they are equal in nature and their desire for all humanity and creation, Jesus confirmed that the Father is greater than Himself.
Now. Don't go twisting today's blog attempting to override someone else's authority declaring you have more power than them because of your status and title as a Father. π This is not that kind of lesson. Let's keep everything in its proper context and focus on the preeminence of God the Father as a Father.
God is our heavenly Father. This means we can come to Him with our concerns, for guidance, strength and just to say hi. That's what Jesus did. Jesus went to God as Father, and God received Jesus as His Son.
They were close. Tight. Whatever God was thinking, Jesus knew about it, because God the Father communicated His thoughts and feelings to His Son Jesus.
Jesus discussed how we, too, can approach God as Father. Jesus said, "When you pray say, "Our Father." Jesus was confirming that we are God's children as well as He is.
God the Father is Abba. He is the Father. God cares about the well being of all His children. Prayer keeps us connected to God the Father.
The Lord's prayer is one of the first prayers most Christian's are taught to pray regularly. I believe it is God's way of introducing Himself to us as the Father not just as God. God is near. He is near as Father to all those who seek Him and give their lives to Him.
Jesus never sought His own way. He always sought the input of the Father. Jesus knew His purpose and stuck to it, because He was led of and strengthened by the Father to do so.
Even in uncomfortable moments Jesus yielded to the will of the Father, declaring, "Not My will but Your will be done." If you can yield to God in challenges, you can most definitely yield to God in triumph."
God wants us to know that He is always greater than all things, but yet through Jesus, He is near to us a our heavenly Father. Prayer and the Word of God brings God the Father near to us on a daily basis. Through Jesus we can now approach the throne of God the Father and ask Him for what we need and want, in accordance to His will for our lives ourselves. Simply... Ask and it will be given to you, as you trust and yield to God as your heavenly Father.
