Who Is Jesus?/Rashea@LLO2 Academy
A. Jesus Christ is the eternal and only begotten Son of God. He is 2nd in the triune being of the Godhead. He has always existed as God the Son (John 1:1).
Jesus is the Creator of the universe. No. God the Father did not create the universe. Jesus the Son is the Creator of all things on earth and in the universe according to (Genesis 1; Colossians 1:16-17).
Jesus is God incarnate. Jesus is the visible image and likeness of God the Father (Colossians 1:15). Jesus reveals, "When you see Me, you have seen the Father (John 14:9-11)."
Jesus is our salvation. Moreover, Jesus IS Salvation. Jesus is our Savior (Ephesians 2:8).
2Corinthians 5:15; Hebrews 9:26-28 clearly communicates that Jesus Christ atonement for our sins was once for all people of all races and creeds. Jesus is the atonement for our sins. We have free access to forgiveness from our sins through Jesus. "If we freely (voluntarily from our hearts) admit our sins and shortcomings, God is faithful and just to pardon and continually cleanse us from all unrighteousness in purpose, thought & actions (1John 1:9)."
It is through the Word of God we are made clean (John 15:3). The Bible encourages us to put off our old sinful nature and be renewed in the attitude of our thoughts. Furthermore, we are urged to put on our new nature made in the image and likeness of God, which is true righteousness & holiness (2Corinthians 5:17; Ephesians 4:22-24).
Our attitudes and thoughts matter. They impact how we approach Jesus and salvation through Jesus. However, God doesn't just want our thoughts. Romans 12:1 declares that God wants even our bodies to be consecrated as holy unto the Lord. God wants all of who we are to be all in with Who He is as our Lord and Savior. It is difficult to focus our attention and thoughts on Jesus, if our bodies are somewhere else.
Jesus sanctifies us in spirit, soul & body. People say your body cannot be saved. Well, according to Romans 6 and 12:1, it can and is, as we yield to the saving grace and sanctifying power of Jesus.
Jesus justifies not sin but rather us from the mastery and oppression of sin, as we repent of our sins and practice righteousness and a life yielded to God (Romans 8:1-2). God the Father is yet at work in us just as much as Jesus is. God the Father has reconciled mankind to Himself through Jesus (John 3:16; Romans 3:24-26; 2Corinthians 5:18, 19 -21).
"For God so loved the world that He gave freely and sacrificially His only begotten Son (rooted and produced from Him) that whoever believes in Him will not eternally be lost and destroyed by the penalty of sin but will have life eternal through Jesus the Son (John 3:16)."
"When you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God the Father raised Him from death, you will indeed be saved & have everlasting life (Romans 10:9)."
