Aligning My Life To God's Word... A Personal Devotion To God & To God's Word/ Rashea@LLO2 Academy

Following Jesus is not about you or I becoming these weird and abnormal aliens from a strange planet.πŸ˜‚πŸ€£ Actually heaven, although very different from earth, is revealed to be a very beautiful place leaving all who have ever seen glimpses of it in awe and wonder. Following Jesus is about changing our hearts posture towards God more than changing our physical appearance.

When your heart is changed from the inside out, your life will change. When your heart is changed from your spirit, your physical form and appearance will naturally enhance and show the changes that are happening on the inside of you. When your heart is changed, God's glory shines through your life, because now you are a direct reflection of God through Jesus.

The Bible says, Christian's who have repented of their sins and practice a life of honoring Jesus are seated with Jesus in heavenly places. This signifies the born again believers position in the spirit. God moves us back into our rightful position as heirs of God through Jesus (Romans 8:15-17; Ephesians 2:11-22).

The first Adam, God's earthly son, succumbed to sin and forfeited his position as a son and a god (ruler, lord, superior, overseer, kingly ruler) over the earth (Genesis 3; Romans 5). Through his disobedience, he brought all humanity under the penalty of death, sin and eternal death. The seed of humanity started with the first Adam.

Jesus the second Adam, God's heavenly and firstborn son, overcame the penalty of death, through the cross. Jesus bore our penalty and curse of eternal punishment. He nailed the penalty and curse of sin to the cross.  All those who receive Jesus as their Lord and Savior receive a new life (fresh start) through His resurrection from the dead and ascension back to heaven where He sits at the right hand of God the Father.

According to Romans 5, the first Adam disobeyed God the Father. However, the second Adam, Jesus (Joshua, Savior) obeyed God the Father fully. Through the first Adam there are penalties and curses that plague humanity. However, through the second Adam (Jesus) there is justice, salvation and blessings forevermore! HALLELUJAH!πŸŽ‰

God's justice, salvation and blessings flow freely through active faith in the life of a born again Christian. Will sin stop God's justice, salvation and blessing from flowing in our lives? Yes, and no.

The Bible is clear, "All have sinned and have fallen short of the glory of God." No matter how moral or saved we are, we all miss the mark from time to time. No one is perfect. We are all fallen humanity who fall to human weakness of the flesh from time to time. Get up, and keep moving forward.

Jesus is gracious. However, to habitually sin, even as a born again believer is considered blatant and purposeful disobedience. When we sin under these circumstances, we bring ourselves and our entire lives under the penalty of death, sin and eternal death, giving God the right to judge our wrong doings. This is the omen or curse of one who practices a life of sin.

As a born again Christian their is no curse or omen that is dominating over your life. Through Jesus and the power of the Holy Spirit working in us, according to Luke 10:19, we have power and authority over ALL the works of the devil (Satan), that ancient snake of old (Genesis 3; John 8:44). God wants to exude His glory through our lives which dominates over the power and nature of the devil.

How do we do this? We do this through a life of ongoing devotion with Jesus through the Word of God, eternal faith and prayer. Through Jesus, we take our position as heirs of God. Through Jesus, we take our position and right posture as sons and daughters of God on the earth.

The curse of sin is yet present. Sins rules over the children of sin and disobedience. However, God's grace is present through Jesus to every Christian, ruling as Lord over them.

The Bible says in Romans 5:17 in brief... For if by the first Adam (the lesser earth born), death reigned over all humanity, then through the second Adam (the Greater One and heavenly born) grace through Jesus will reign supreme all the more. Through Jesus we can live victorious over sin and eternal death. Through obedience to Jesus we have longevity and eternal life.

A life devoted to Jesus isn't just about keeping a bunch of rules. A life devoted to Jesus is about actually getting to know Jesus by daily studying and meditating on the Word of God. Aligning our lives to God's Word isn't about us forcing ourselves to become a better people, but rather just letting it happen naturally as we regularly spend time with Jesus.

Think about it. When you spend a lot of time with a person... they rub off on you. Don't they? Well, that's how it is with Jesus. When you spend a lot of time with Him, He rubs off on you, transforming you into a reflection of Himself for all to see.

When we study God's Word... we discover who Jesus really is. Sometimes, our research will look nothing like the horror stories we heard about Him being this hateful and cruel God. When we really study the Scriptures, aligning our understanding to the Bible... we discover that even the justice and wrath of God serves a higher purpose.

It is God's will that no one perish. He sent Jesus to bear our penalty once, for all humanity. Through Jesus, we can have a life free from the harsh realities of a life without Jesus. Discover that life through a life devoted to Jesus through spending time with Him regularly by reading the Bible, studying the Bible, through prayer and quiet reflections in God's presence.
