Kingdom Leadership 2024- Multiple Diversity In Ministry, the Marketplace and At School/ Rashea@LLO2 Academy- Leadership Edition
A lack of diversity in race, nationality experiences and ideas within the marketplace, schools, communities or within organizations is unhealthy. Diversity in various races, nationalities, experiences and ideas helps maintain a sense of acceptance for all people. Diversity in various races, nationalities, experiences and ideas helps extinguish unnecessary bias, stigmas and stereotypes that can cause division and a misrepresentation of who individuals really are.
People within a common race or nationality are just as different from one another as the color of someone's skin. It is intimidating for a person of another race or nationality to walk into a culture or community that is predominantly one race. Instantly, those looking on put up bias walls and make prejudgments not based on a person's skills, experiences or character but rather the color of their skin or nationality.π
Companies and organizations who are diverse in various races, nationalities, experiences and ideas maintain their success longer. But why is that? Companies and organizations who are diverse in various ethnicities, nationalities, experiences and ideas maintain their success longer, because the diversity of ethnicities, nationalities, experiences and ideas within the company or organization broadens customers views, ease the comfort levels of their consumers, attracts larger crowds of diversity and drives sales and the vision further than if only one race or nationality was the object of attraction.
When diversity is a part of your vision, community, company, school or organization, customers and other businesses or corporations who may not speak the primary language may want to partner with you or invest in your vision or products. Having diversity on your team makes other ethnicities and nationalities feel comfortable partnering with you or investing in your products and vision. Investing in a diverse team who speaks the primary language and the language of another culture fluently can drive your customer base, sales and vision forward.
Having a diverse team can open up opportunities for you and your team internationally, as well. If you are focused on just your ethnicity you can be missing out on life changing opportunities to grow and to connect with great leaders and people from other cultures, companies, schools, communities and organizations. Do you see the upside of diversity?
Diversity doesn't imply you are losing your identity as a certain ethnicity or nationality. Diversity implies you are gaining the knowledge needed to rightly see the world beyond your upbringing or demographics. Let me ask you a question. Is the Kingdom of God racially divided according to the Bible? Then why do we believe racism and not understanding other cultures and nationalities is okay?
Racism and bias was never God's plan. If it was, He would have made everyone the same ethnicity and nationality. We are to be defined as the human race. The color of our skin, upbringing, religious beliefs and views, status or stature should not divide us in the workplace, our schools, communities or organizations. Find common ground, and work together cohesively to build a better tomorrow and future for all people.
