The Worth & Wisdom of Manhood (God's Men Going Bible)/ Depending On God's Ability Above My Own Abilities... Session 8/ Rashea@LLO2 Academy
The stereotype of manhood is that you have to be tough, strong and show little to no emotion or you are considered soft. But that stereotype has caused many men to battle bouts of depression, a male chauvinistic attitude, anger and anxiety. God called you to rule the world (Genesis 1:26-28), not to be overwhelmed or ruled by it.
You were made in the image and likeness of God. You are His son. Look to Him to help you reach your fullest potential and to accomplish your goals and dreams.
Create new ideas. Innovate something that has never been seen or done before. You were created to do, to create and to become great at who you are and what you love to do.
In your own ability, there will always be some kind of weakness. However, God's strength is made perfect in those moments where you feel weak and overwhelmed. So who's strength and ability are you leaning on? Yours or God's?
Proverbs emphasizes the importance of looking to God for guidance. What you are thinking and how you are thinking may be all wrong, but God is always right. Don't follow the path of your emotions or naysayers. Follow God's guidance which leads to a good outcome.
Saul was a man and king who sought his own way above God's instructions. Time and time again he neglected to listen to God. Leaning on his own abilities above God's abilities caused him to forfeit his destiny, family and his dynasty.
When God gives instructions, talents and gifts, they're not just for you or about you. They're for generations that are coming after you. Leaning on your own abilities can
jeopardize the well-being of others.
Relying on God's ability above your own abilities isn't a sign of weakness. It's Wisdom. It's wise to draw your strength from God. Put His supernatural abilities on your natural abilities and break barriers and limitations off of your life.
