I Will Give My Best- Rashea@LLO2 Academy/TYFJB Academy... Friday Night TYFJB Academy Edition
Can you pledge to give your best in all you do?
Promise yourself to always give your best, even on days it's hard or you just don't feel like it. No one feels like giving their best all the time. However, giving your best is much more than a feeling. It's a decision.
You have the power to give your best, even when others around you are not. Don't follow the crowd. Be your best self at all times.
Now being your best at all times will require:
.Self motivation.
You have to be your own coach and motivator sometimes. Speak positive thoughts and words over yourself as you navigate through tasks, goals and challenges. Stay positive, and surround yourself with positivity.
.Courage.
You can't fear making mistakes. We get better at tasks through repetition. We accomplish our goals through endurance and diligence. Moreover, we overcome challenges by never giving up.
.Balance.
Know when to hang out with your friends and when to just chill. School and life itself for most young people are busy, noisy and hectic; from making it to class on time, to getting enough sleep; dealing with teachers and peers, to navigating through problem solving (cause and effect).
Your thoughts...ππ"I didn't say that."
"Well, that's not what I meant."
"What did they mean by that?"
"Is that right?"
"Am I right or wrong?"
"How much time do I have left to finish this test or project?"π
Oh... the perils of being a young person.π
Trust me. I've been there. ALL parents have walked down that road before.
Despite the road, challenges or expectations, always give your best. And when you miss the mark, don't be so hard on yourself. No one gets everything right all the time. Again, repetition is the antidote. Don't worry yourself over things that require practice, effort, patience and time.
The Bible says, "Whatever you do, do it from the heart, as something done for the Lord and not for people." (Colossians 3:23)
I want to personally encourage every young person, because sometimes school is hard. Family life can be hard. Working, going to school and dealing with life itself can be hard.
I get it, but don't aim to please people. Seek to please God. The weight of God's expectations is much lighter than the expectations of people and sometimes even your own expectations.
Nothing that you do is overlooked by God. God keeps good notes. "So, then, brothers and sisters, don’t let anyone move you off the foundation of your faith. Always excel in the work you do for the Lord. You know that the hard work you do for the Lord is not pointless." (1Corinthians 15:58).
Furthermore, it's important to keep a healthy support system around you, as you navigate through tasks, life, goals and even expectations. Keep people around you that hold you accountable, but also show grace and understanding when it's needed. Hey, we're human. We are all prone to be human from time to time. That's totally okay. Just keep getting better day by day.
